The cool breeze washed over me, raising goosebumps, the clickity clack of leaves tumbling across the sidewalk teased my ears, in the distance neighbors talked and children laughed, behind it all, a dog barked and the infinite song of creation continued.
Small moments, such as the one above, when "nothing" is going on are the vingnettes in time that we, humans, need to notice, and need to appreciate. These moments of nothing are actually moments of everything. Noticing the beauty in such moments, noticing the “infinite song of creation”, these are the very things that will fulfill our souls. That will give us joy.
And once we start to notice this beauty, it becomes easier to keep noticing. And perhaps, with enough diligence, if we just keep our damned mind from getting in the way, eventually, we will have more of these beautiful moments every day. And maybe, just maybe, if we keep going, it would be possible to live a string of days where we noticed the hidden beauty in every moment. And if we keep going further still, perhaps we could string many such beautiful days together. And if we could string all these beautiful moments, into a string of beautiful days…at the very end we could look back and realized that we had, through the act of noticing, created a beautiful life.
So keep going.
Lovely post, but I'm not sure that this kind of all-encompassing noticing is entirely an act of will. In my experience, such experiences just seem to happen. Your article reminds me of Adlestrop, by Edward Thomas:

It's been one of my favourite poems since I first came across it in an English lesson when I was 14, which was a long time ago!
Love the drawing: it really captures the essence of the whole piece.
