The sun is a luminescent sprinkler, spraying her drops of magical life over the earth, splattering them through the trees, across my lawn, through my retinas and into my soul, refreshing the earth in preparation for another beautiful day.
It's the perfect day to visit family one hasn't seen in a while. To journey across the countryside, trekking toward laughter and melancholy, anticipating meals together, and looking forward to more of those shared times one can only have with relatives.
Sometimes gratitude takes effort, and other times it flows freely, and a day in which Helios greets you with such a magnificent hello is a day that promises delight in the latter. Today certainly is such a day. The journey doesn’t disappoint and neither do the hours we are together with our loved ones. Loved ones. What a phrase.
When we make the conscious decision to extend our love to those we hold dear - those whose absence would leave a gaping void in the fabric of our lives - we expose ourselves not only to the boundless joy that love can engender, but also to the acute vulnerability and raw anguish that can result from its inevitable absence. It is a duality born from the mother of all dualities, chaos and order. Entropy and creation. Love and fear. And so, when we open our hearts we may experience both frustration and delight. Annoyance and admiration. Yet to embrace both is the only way to transcend such duality.
Certainly, we could avoid it all, but to avoid it all would be to avoid love. To avoid life itself. And love is embedded in the very consciousness of our reality. In the very awareness we all seek. Awareness that will illuminate our soul and spray globules of light, to those around us, much like Apollo sent down drops of Helios today from his chariot ride across the sky.
Love and consciousness are certainly related. Perhaps they are one in the same. Fear and unconsciousness, also the same. We live on a spectrum from purely conscious to purely unconscious….from pure love to pure fear. And we do what we are able to move closer and closer to the pure love end of the spectrum. For, to awaken to this consciousness, is to be human. Is to live.
So what else can one do? Avoiding pain is born from fear, so we wake up, we must! And in that, there is nothing left to do but love. The Source created this uplifting sunlight filled day for us, and, so, we mimic the Source and we create drops of light for each other. What a grand day it is!
A wonderful read. Thank you for posting.
You write in a way that calls to mind the calm and transcendence that I hear comes with psychotropic drugs. This is a compliment.
