Thank you for your beautiful words. While it is tempting to say that our times are uniquely dark, this is untrue; the times have always been dark. Whatever excellence we have accomplished is actually frightfully fragile; it can easily be destroyed in a moment by willful ignorance, by selfishness, by greed, or worse, by the nihilism that is in every human heart.

Art is a signpost away from our destructive impulses. And the fact that art itself is not the answer but rather what it leads towards...that is neither belittling of art nor worshiping of spiritual quest-- it is Christ himself ,come to us as a good shepherd and friend of sinners. It is in him where we truly find rest, and also where we find the image of the invisible God, which is the source of all beauty, light and goodness.

Your welcome. The world is full of beauty if we will but see. And, amazingly, we have the gift of creating more beauty any time we make true art.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading ... And I look forward to the book. The following really meant a lot to me and it is how I feel: "We must protect the fragile, luminous thread that connects us. We must remember that the creative act, and the art it creates, is not a luxury, it is a lifeline."
