I'm not a fan of the "Dark Arts," but I read a lot about it decades ago. I was first attracted to the genre through the book "Hostage to the Devil" by Fr. Malachi Martin. Supposedly, "Rosemary's Baby" was based on some aspects of his book.

I was using the term more metaphorically, but scary stuff, certainly not to be "played" with. Best to attune to The Light.
