Running! Running. Running. Running. Ruuuunnnnnning! I’m running. Running on the beach. Running on the sand! This is the greatest moment of my life! Running through the water! Woof! The wind is blowing through my fur. Amazing! My tongue is hanging out of the side of my mouth! I can taste the air! I love running! I love the beach! I love my Human! This is the greatest moment of my life! Hey! Where’s my human? Haha! He’s waaayyyy back there. Humans are so slow! I’m running back to him. Ha! I ran past him again! I’ll run circles around him! This is the greatest moment of my life! He can’t keep up even though he’s running! I love my human! Look there’s another human! I’m going to go run circles around her too! haha! This is the greatest moment of my life! Running down the beach again! look! There’s another dog! Woof! Yap! He answered! We’re best friends now! Let’s run, friend! Ok, now, seriously, this is the greatest moment of my life!
Wait! Look! Woof! There’s another dog. A whole pack of dogs in the water! What are they doing? It looks fun! They have a beach ball! They’re all chasing a beach ball in the water! They’re jumping up to hit it with their noses!
Oh! My! God! Yes! That! Is! The! Best! Idea! Ever! Mind! Blown! HURRY - Let’s go play with them friend! This has got to be the greatest moment of my life! Where are our humans? Hurry up Dad! I’m going to play with these dogs!
Yo, dawgs! We’re coming! Woof! This is the most fun I’ve ever had! I love this day! I’m gonna get that ball! I’m gonna get it! Move over, dawg! I’m gonna get it! Get the ball! I’m getting close! Jump! Haha! Woof! I hit it with my nose! YEESSS - This is the greatest moment of my life! Did my human see me? Where is he!? He’s laying on a towel in the sand! I’m gonna go tell him I love him! Running! Running! Hi human! Lick! Lick! I love you! Lick! Thank you for bringing me to the beach today! Lick! Yes!

Inspired by a dog that effortlessly, playfully ran 50-yard circles around me as I ran huffing and puffing down the beach in Port Aransas, Texas, and by a group of dogs, in the surf in Santa Cruz California playing with a beach ball and hitting it with their noses. And, of course, by dogs on beaches everywhere. - Clintavo
When one of my dear friends was doing an internship in Virginia for a five months, he brought me his blue heeler to watch while he was in a small apartment with no time. She was the love of his life, and when he'd come to visit us no matter what we'd done that day he'd say to her "that was our best day ever, wasn't it?" And to both of them, it was! Your delightful story reminded me of this story from a decade ago.
I'll read this to my dog when I get home :). I'm sure she shares the same thoughts about the beach as Phydeaux :)
