There is a Well.
It is the only Well
along the road
to endless hell.
The throngs wander
in thrall to trivial travails
walking a wide road
to destruction;
their eyes
blinded by scales.
Thirsty.
Tired.
Empty.
Famished.
Busy.
Searching.
Binging.
Banished.
They’ve labored long.
Years, decades, centuries
pass.
Yet on they plod
through parched deserts
of dross.
Shuffling down the road
that passes The Well.
The only well
along the road
to endless hell.
A few stop.
They glance at the Well.
Curiously they wonder:
Can we escape from this hell?
They observe the Well.
They take some time to think.
They’ve been parched so long
They’ve forgotten how to drink.
“One must believe.”
That’s a proverb they tell.
So they stand,
Thirsting,
parched,
believing in water,
in front of The Well.
Their holy men
consult with stars:
“Invite the water
With love in your hearts!”
They stand together
adoring the well,
Holding hands,
remaining in hell.
A little child,
young eyes without scales,
sees truth and light,
and he is the first,
while the holy men fight
he quenches his thirst.
The child now leads.
He says to the crowd:
You stand there in hell!
You talk and you think!
The water is free.
Just take a drink!
And all will be well!

No AI Zone: Everything written in this post (and all my posts) is written 100% by me, Clint “Clintavo” Watson, a flesh and blood human seeking to grow my soul and come home my truest self; for that is the essence of creativity. I do not use AI to assist me with writing — that would deny me the very growth of my world through writing that I seek.
I only rarely use AI images with my (non-AI) writing. On the rare occasions I do use an AI image (usually fiction), I also feature at least one artwork by a human artist with image credits and links to their work or, if I can’t find a suitable image, I donate a free month of website service to one of our artist customers at my SaaS company, FASO Artist Websites.
Poetic expression, spiritual ideas, and musings upon beauty, truth and goodness should be free to spread far and wide. Hence, I have not paywalled the work on Reflections of the Sovereign Artist. However, if you’re able to become a paid subscriber, I’d be eternally grateful. It would help, encourage and enable me to continue exploring these topics and allow me to keep it accessible for a world that is in desperate need of beauty, truth, goodness and love. — Creatively, Clintavo.

There are so many in this world, trudging through the dross, passing the well, but denying its sustenance. If only they would set aside their worries, their self absorbed ruminations, and just close their eyes in abandoned surrender, and drink deeply.
Well- that’s True!
