I do believe that this can happen for many of us when immersed in the painting process, especially when painting en plein air. I often get completely lost in the moment & fibd it a totally ZEN experience - before becoming aware of the hot sun or the pesky black flies or other external asoects!
The call to reclaim control over our minds and embrace moments of pure presence is compelling. It is a motivating reminder to prioritize living in the present rather than constantly overthinking. Beautiful article, Clintavo! Also, the illustration is captivating, I love it!
I love what you e written here, Clintavo! I was just today listening to Rick Rubin interview Jon Kabat-Zinn about this very subject, and then began listening to the 30th anniversary edition of “Wherever you go, there you are.” And this mindful meditation you’re talking about is the way.
Rick Rubin is a modern day mystic and a good example of how living in the loving embrace of your true self will allow the universe to bring you bounty. Imagine, a record producer who has self proclaimed that he doesn't know much about music, and has no technical knowledge or ability to run all the sound boards and mixing boards etc. He's like living proof that this woo-woo stuff is real.
I couldn't agree more ... 100%. I do try to purposely work on this. I have to stop myself mentally and tell myself "whoa ... just hush up and listen to your creator"! It's quite horrifying the garbage of mental noise that can parade through one's mind without even quite realizing it ... and then suddenly you do!! I then become aware, and I purposefully, mentally shut up and just listen to the universe. I think the Asians call this noisy mind "Monkey Mind". That pretty much sums up what our minds can become if we're not paying attention.

like minded souls at least.... it has been so long since I could read someone else's thoughts and feel like it could be me that has written it.
Heartfelt and relevant article, Clintavo, and beautiful illustration. Thank you.

I agree. Turns out that it’s not so “woo-woo” after all!!
Eloquently said! And felt. Wonderful illustration!
Loved your reflection, Clint. Thanks for sharing.
It is critical to find quiet time for replenishing of our souls and to receive direction from the holy spirit.

Not too long ago I could not be happy if I didn’t know the name of the tree I was looking at or hugging.
Now I’m appreciating treeness and trying knowing nothing. Incredible.
