The Inner Master
Reflection #84: When we most feel we need a guide, surprisingly, we find we already have one.
Jesus spoke in Parables so that only those whose hearts were prepared to hear – those whose spirits were “fertile soil” as he taught in the parable of the sower – would understand:
“When he [Jesus] was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’” – Mark 4:10-12
Just as someone whose body isn’t prepared cannot compete in professional sports, someone whose heart is still encased in their ego trauma of karma – sin – cannot yet easily comprehend messages from The Divine Mystery. These folks are still choosing Hell. Otherwise, they would understand and “turn” as Jesus said in his explanation to the Twelve.
He spoke in Parables so that only those who were ready to hear his meaning would understand, while at the same time, the riddle of a parable would plant a seed in the mind of those who weren’t ready — a kind of spiritual ear worm. He said, “He who has (spiritual) ears let him hear”, “My sheep know my voice.”, and “blessed are your (spiritual) eyes for they see.”
“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
This force — the Word, the creative song of the universe, the logos, The Sovereign Artist, the evolution of the universe toward complexity and order, or whatever you wish to call this undeniable power — works inside of us still, if we have “ears of the heart” with which to “hear” it; that is, if we are ready to hear it.
We hear the whispers of wonder calling; we hear intimations of our true name; we feel the pull of divinely inspired curiosity, but we ignore these calls when we don’t understand them; when we are still unready, with our awareness focused solely upon the outside world while the field of our inner soil remains untilled and infertile. We mistakenly think that the well of living water inside of each of us is an endless void, which we then try to fill with earthly delights.
We continue this futile exercise of samsara as long as we aren’t ready or willing to hear the call. But, even in the midst of this endless wheel of time, we feel the call as an underlying existential angst – that is the seed that the parable of reality has planted within us.
Deep down, we know something is wrong. Sometimes our suffering becomes so acute that we think, “I can’t take this anymore” and then, perhaps, we start to awaken. Our soul, at that point, has been tilled through suffering and now the ground is fertile for the parabolic seed of the mysterious Elysian Power to take root.
Through paying soulful attention, experiencing the magic of creating art, entering flow states, contemplating great beauty, opening to true love, or doggedly chasing the slow advancement of our soul, the moment finally arrives, when we are ready to truly hear the parables of the universe; for where there is beauty, goodness, truth and love, there is the force of virtue which can heal our minds, and hearts. The Logos is the ultimate virtuoso.
“the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.” — Luke 6:19
Paraphrasing my friend Eugene Terekhin: until we are willing to sublimate our egos and stand under the inner master we will not understand — understanding begins only when we stand under God and allow the waterfall of his living water to wash over us.
In that sacred instant when we stand under the inner master; when we truly hear and understand the call of wonder, the call transforms into a wounding blow from God.
Like Jacob, we “wrestle with God” and come away with a divine wound which has cracked open the trauma around our heart and we hear, maybe for the first time, we actually hear the call. We have entered spiritual Israel (a word that means ‘wrestles with God.’)
“The wound is the place where the light enters you” — Rumi
And suddenly, we understand. We know beyond all knowing and all reason. The parables, both those that are written in scripture and those written upon reality before our eyes, we finally realize, are simply pointers, to the deeper reality of The Kingdom that has been here all along. Turn inward, the Kingdom is at hand!
We were playing with what we thought were mere images, but they were actually icons that stand ready to transport us into the reality of unity that is enchanted and powered by The God Spell of which, mysteriously, we are and are a part of simultaneously.
That is what it is to enter The Kingdom with the guidance of The Inner Master.

The Courage to Find Your Self
“Even though I am not a Christian, it was promising and assuring to follow ourselves without caring for others judgey eyes. It felt relieving to hear the words of God and have faith in God. I read this finally after postponing it for 3 days. And I have given up mostly on being smth I am not. I have realised I should be what I wish to be rather than what world forces me to be. Your post helped me to make my ideology more stronger.” — Tina Puna
The God Spell
“Love to you Clint in exposing truth to readers. Very well thought out words, sifted through the mind and soul of that one known as Clintavo, that one small but unique piece of the holistic puzzle called life.” — Louanne Headrick
The Mystery
“This is an exceptionally good essay about the eternal reality underlying this vale of tears. Well done, young man!” — William Schneider
Modernity is Hell
“This reads like a psalm for the soul-sick—equal parts lament and luminous call to awaken. Clintavo has pierced the veil of modernity’s hollow comforts and pointed straight to the aching heart beneath our concrete sprawl. Beauty is the battleground, and wonder is the rebellion. In a world addicted to numbness, feeling anything sacred is a revolutionary act.” — Aleksander Constantinoropolous
The Divine Singularity in our Core
“Beautiful and deep reflections from the void - your writings are so inspiring and thank you for sharing my artwork with this one particularly!!!! Keep shining <3” — Laura Krusemark

The Attention Deficit
We have created an energy deficit in ourselves by paying the world with too much of our egoistic attention and by not engaging in the re-creation of soulful attention
No AI Zone: Everything written in this post (and all my posts) is written 100% by me, Clint “Clintavo” Watson, a flesh and blood human seeking to grow my soul and come home my truest self; for that is the essence of creativity. I do not use AI to assist me with writing — that would deny me the very growth of my world through writing that I seek.
I only rarely use AI images with my (non-AI) writing. On the rare occasions I do use an AI image (usually fiction), I also feature at least one artwork by a human artist with image credits and links to their work or, if I can’t find a suitable image, I donate a free month of website service to one of our artist customers at my SaaS company, FASO Artist Websites.
Poetic expression, spiritual ideas, and musings upon beauty, truth and goodness should be free to spread far and wide. Hence, I have not paywalled the work on Reflections of the Sovereign Artist. However, if you’re able to become a paid subscriber, I’d be eternally grateful. It would help, encourage and enable me to continue exploring these topics and allow me to keep it accessible for a world that is in desperate need of beauty, truth, goodness and love. — Creatively, Clintavo.

Masterfully written. From the depths of inner understanding of our Spirit, you have been given the clarity of words that is nearly impossible to convey. God bless and thank you.
Thank you for sharing this reflection.
